To Make Simple Syrup:
Combine 1 cup sugar with 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat and cook until reduced to a
slightly thick syrup, about 10 minutes.
The syrup will keep in the refrigerator for upto 6 months.
Makes about 1 1/4 cups. It can be used for popsicles or ice cubes, sorbets, shakes and summer coolers.
